Of Italian descendent, Valeria Di Tommaso was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

She studied at the National Academies for Fine Arts -Prilidiano Pueyrredón and  -Ernesto de la Cárcova, specializing in Painting and Printmaking and obtaining her DFA in Printmaking techniques and Printed Arts in 2002.

Early in her career she started exhibiting and taking part in international art competitions in Argentina and abroad.

She alternated her artistic activity with teaching in Buenos Aires, becoming a lecturer in drawing and printmaking techniques at the national university I.U.N.A -Instituto Universitario Nacional de Artes.

She moved to Europe in 2003, settling in Florence, Italy, where she had an intense activity holding both solo and group exhibitions. She became soon part of the italian printmaking community. In 2013 she was included in the national archive of italian printmakers -Repertorio degli Incisori Italiani. She has been an active member of the ALI printmakers association -Associazione Liberi Incisori based in Bologna for 15 years.

Today she lives and works in London, continuing with her international activity which over the years led her to exhibit in Bulgaria, Romania, Japan, Macedonia, Uruguay, Spain, Portugal, Argentina, Italy and the UK. She has been working at The British Museum since 2014, in Collection Management and Registration roles within departments such as Prints and Drawings, Middle East and Collection Documentation and Registration.
